Reading List

The readings for the course are detailed on the Class Schedule web page. Students must read the assignment before the class meeting and come to class prepared to explore it and participate in a discussion about it. Of these readings there is one book that you may choose to purchase at the University of Toronto Bookstore. The remainder are available on-line as electronic texts (in which case they are shown as links in the table on the Class Schedule page).

Items you can purchase at the bookstore (214 College Street, Toronto, ON M5T 3A1). Phone: 416.640.7900):

BEFORE week 6, students MUST view the film, Heart of a Dog 1988, Vladimir Bortko. The film will be available for viewing in Robarts Library, Media Center. You may be able to find this film on the internet, (for example, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whHySar4EoY) but these internet copies are probably in violation of copyright and usually don't have English subtitles.
