Sla 418 S Studies in Ukrainian Drama


The course will consist of two-hour weekly seminars . The purpose of the course is to acquaint the students with the development of Ukrainian drama. The students will be expected to read certain plays of selected authors. These works will be analyzed, discussed, and placed within the developement of the genre, in particular, and of Ukrainian literature, in general.

The students will conduct the weekly seminars. Seminars will be alloted at the first meeting of the class by luck of the draw. Students shall present their seminars orally on the assigned date. The first seminar of each student must be sumitted in written form no latter than March 2, 1999.

There will be a take home examination which will be due on Tuesady April 6, 1999

Participation at seminars 15%
Oral presentation of seminar 20%
Written version of seminar 40%
Take-home examination 25%
